Who Leigh Day are
Leigh Day is a law firm investigating possible legal action on behalf of residents over PFAS contamination in Thornton-Cleveleys. In September 2026 it described its position this way: “Leigh Day is currently investigating the viability of legal action on behalf of residents in Thornton Cleveleys.”

The email address is the one Leigh Day gives for this case. Its July 2025 update says: “If you consider you may have been affected by the operations of AGC Chemicals Europe Ltd or by PFAS contamination, and wish to contact the Leigh Day Team please feel free to do so using the following email address [email protected].” Its September 2026 fact sheet gives the same address.

What to include
You do not need all of this, but it helps if your email covers:
- your full address and postcode
- how long you have lived there, and any earlier addresses nearby
- whether the soil at your home has been sampled
- any health conditions you think may be related
- whether you grow and eat your own fruit and vegetables, or keep hens or ducks and eat their eggs
- whether you have ever worked at AGC Chemicals or elsewhere on the Hillhouse estate
What to expect
The blood testing has finished. Leigh Day’s September 2026 fact sheet sets out its next steps: “Our next steps will be to analyse the results of the blood testing with experts.” It also says: “We also continue to seek external funding from interested parties for the next phase of the potential litigation.”
Getting in touch does not guarantee testing, representation or compensation. Leigh Day is still assessing whether legal action is viable.
The same fact sheet says Leigh Day will hold “a further community meeting, with all residents, and our experts Dr Megson and Professor Tony Fletcher during the autumn of 2026”, and that it “will circulate details of this meeting in advance.”
